Profile and History

Destiny Ministries International is a church based in the Philippines. Destiny Main is located in Los Banos, Laguna.

Vision - To build a glorious church that will be a model, a blessing and a testimony to community, to the Body of Christ and to the nations of the world, for the glory of God.

Destiny Ministries International traces its beginnings in the University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB), a university known for its activism. Hatred towards the government and cries for change filled the campus.

By June 1990, God raised up a new breed of students. Seven of them started a bible study, believing that the individual should be changed first before the society. A month later, the same students spearheaded a "prayer march" around UPLB. The march culminated in the main library, with the students shouting "Jesus is Lord over UPLB".

In the same year, the first revival camp was held with 25 students, who experienced the life-changing presence of God. Two more camps followed where students committed their lives totally to God. Thus, by 1991, the group UP Students For Christ (UP-SFC) was formed. It was registered in the Office of Student Affairs as an official organization in UPLB.

By 1992, small bible study groups were established which gave birth to a local church, the Sound of His Voice Ministries, Inc. (SOHVMI). More sectors were formed in the following years, namely, the professionals, community, couples, and children's ministry. In 1995, house churches were started in San Pablo City and Calamba City. Two years later, the church started a work in Quezon City.

In 2000, SOHVMI was renamed Destiny Ministries International, Inc. (DMI) and was registered at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Presently, aside from DMI-Laguna, DMI has churches in Quezon City, Alabang, San Pablo, Binan, Cavite, Makati, Mindoro, Lucena, and Singapore. From the seven students, DMI now has a strong membership of more than a thousand.

For more than 15 years, DMI has been a blessing to campuses by conducting leadership trainings, seminars and retreats; to churches by promoting unity and revival; and to the communities by sponsoring medical/dental missions, scholarship/educational assistance, gift-giving and children's workshops. Today, DMI as a movement continues to grow in fulfilling its destiny of spreading God's love.
