Greater Measure of God’s Power and Love: The Tanzania African Call 2009

By Adrian C. Crisanto

“Jesus ministered continuously with an open heaven above Him through the power of the Holy Spirit and the love of the Father,” said Dr. Paul P. Yadao, Destiny Ministries International (DMI) Senior Pastor, about the greater measure of God’s demonstration of His glory at the recent African Call in Tanzania, held on July 14-21, 2009.

Spearheaded by Global Missions Awareness (GMA) leader Leif Hetland, the African Call team was comprised of 81 members from different churches and organizations, closely linked to GMA. Five of these members are Filipinos and all come from DMI, including Senior Pastors Paul and Ahl Yadao. They joined the team in ministering to thousands of African locals who were present during the simultaneous events happening in four different venues. The morning sessions were for the leaders and pastors of the various churches in the region, while the afternoon gatherings were for the crusades, where most of the healings, deliverances and salvations happened.

This year’s African Call marked yet another fresh experience for Dr. Yadao. “It’s my first time to be part of the team of the main speakers. I know the assignment requires so much preparation and focus (being in-tuned with the voice of God),” he said. He was one of the main speakers for the different events, along with Hetland, Jack and Friede Taylor, Jim Rogers and Tom Hauser. Pastor Ahl Yadao, together with Julaine Christensen, Leanne Goff and Friede Taylor, also served as a speaker in the Women’s Conference for the local Lutheran Church pastors’ wives.

Dr. Paul also shared one memorable story that happened in a crusade in Moshi attended by about 2,500 locals. “I was standing on the platform with Leif and the interpreter, I closed my eyes and turned my head to heaven,” he recalled, “and said ‘Holy Spirit come and release Your Presence, release the Kingdom of God.’” He said that after his prayer, the Spirit of God moved and many people were healed and delivered from demonic oppression. “Many fell, shouted, wept and trembled as they were being filled by the Holy Spirit’s power. It was an awesome sight. I was so overwhelmed. I thank Him for allowing me to co-labor with Him in what He is doing,” he added.

Also, part of the best experience that Dr. Yadao had during the African Call was the climb to Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. He was with the other members of the team. They made it to the first station within a day. He plans to reach the summit some other time.

The next African Call is set in the second quarter of 2010. Nonetheless, this September, Paul and Ahl Yadao are set to join the conference in Casper Wyoming and minister in the Kingdom Training for Reigning for the leaders of Hosanna Lutheran Church. They will also serve as speakers at the Missions Conference of Heartland Assembly at Ankeny, Iowa.
