Destiny Ministries International

Members of Destiny family distributed a total of 936 relief packs to victims of tropical storm Ondoy during five relief operations held over the past two weeks.

The recipients were families residing in Barangays De La Paz in Biñan, Sto. Domingo in Bay and Bambang, Bayog, Mayondon, and Malinta in Los Baños.

The packs contained assorted items like rice, canned goods, soap, and noodles, some with old clothes and bottled water. The goods were donated by Miles Ahead, a ministry of Rock Church in San Diego, California, USA, Samaritan’s Purse, and MGC New Life Christian Academy and members of DMI. Ms. Raquiel I. Pinlac, a DMI member, facilitated the donations from the three organizations.

The team gave out 420 packs in Biñan (October 4 and 12), 254 packs in Bay (October 6) and 262 packs in Los Baños (September 28, October 6, and October 15).

“The impact of Ondoy in Laguna is beyond words. Aside from relief packs, the victims desperately need encouragement and moral support,” said Pastor Nick Sosmeña, one of the coordinators of the relief operations.

Aside from receiving goods, the recipients in the said barangays were also prayed for by members of Destiny family.

Students, professionals, and families from DMI – Los Baños, DMI – Calamba City, and DMI – South Metro joined the relief operations.

Tropical storm Ondoy (International Name Ketsana), hit the Philippines on September 26. Metro Manila and its neighboring provinces, including Laguna bore the brunt of Ondoy’s fury. As of press time, many low-lying communities surrounding Laguna Lake remain flooded.
